One Digital Brings Die Cutting In-House

One Digital and The Need for a VeloBlade Volta

Officially established in 2005, One Digital was actually the joining of two businesses that had been operating since 1996. These two businesses are now operating from one large site in Brighton, that spans two units, with litho and digital presses along with a range of large format printers and finishing equipment.

They saw the opportunity to add the VeloBlade Volta as it was an ideal partner for both their digital and shorter litho print runs and brought some extra benefits to the business. Lynn Brazier, Joint Managing Director told us “Outsourcing die cutting has never created any issues for us but to stay competitive we needed a fix, and this machine has done that while also reducing our costs. With no need for dies to be made, we can offer a faster and more flexible service. It is also a solution for some of the thicker substrates we use for large format when shapes are required”.

"We looked at one other machine with a similar spec but the VeloBlade 69+ was more robust with capacity for a larger sheet and capable of cutting thicker substrates. We found the process of enquiry to purchase very easy and were supplied full information along with a demo of the exact machine within a fully working environment. "

Why Did One Digital Choose A VeloBlade Volta?

Having taken the time to conduct market research and directly comparing the VeloBlade Volta 69+ to another system, it quite quickly became apparent that the Vivid system was the perfect fit for One Digital. Brazier said, “We looked at one other machine with a similar spec but the VeloBlade 69+ was more robust with capacity for a larger sheet and capable of cutting thicker substrates. We found the process of enquiry to purchase very easy and were supplied full information along with a demo of the exact machine within a fully working environment. The price tag suited our budget, and the installation date was within two weeks of our decision. A good, all-round service”.

Having only recently taken installation and training of their VeloBlade Volta, One Digital are hopeful of what it is going to bring to the business. “Although the system only recently arrived, what we have produced so far has been more than acceptable! Business is down due to the pandemic, but we are confident that as we return to normal, the VeloBlade Volta will be a great asset to our business”.

This is the first time One Digital have partnered with us, but it doesn’t seem like it is going to be the last. “Our dealings with Vivid has been a positive experience. We would be more than happy to consider them as a supplier should the need arise in the future”, Brazier explained.
