Borehamwood based printers, Kellmatt, have expanded their modular Matrix foiling and lamination system with the recent addition of an OmniFlow deep pile feeder. This has helped them to significantly speed up production time of key products and, by freeing up operator time, has improved efficiency.
Kellmatt, formed as a family business in 1991, initially just produced self-adhesive labels but quickly grew to offer a full print solution. In 2000, the company moved into digital print and have continued to grow over the years to now incorporate a full graphic design studio, large format graphic department and full print room with 3 digital presses and full finishing capability. The company motto is “Conception to completion” as they strive to provide a one-stop shop for their customers.
Recently Kellmatt took the decision to upgrade their Matrix system through the addition of an OnmiFlow deep pile auto-feeder, which allows up to 700 sheets 250gsm to be stacked and automatically fed into the laminator, significantly reducing production time and freeing up an operator to work on other tasks. Long sheets of up to 1050mm are also supported. Two versions of the OmniFlow are available, SRA3 for the MX-370P/370DP, MX530P/530DP and SRA2 for the MX530P/530DP and these can be retrofitted to any suitable Matrix system. Being a modular system gives printers flexibility in their investment allowing them, for instance, to initially purchase the lamination and foiling system but then add to the system as the business grows.
